History

CyberDog 2 was announced in 2023 by Chinese consumer electronics giant Xiaomi. The second generation in the CyberDog series, the new model is smaller, lighter, and more capable than its predecessor. The company described it as a "bionic quadruped robot" designed as a research platform as well as a robotic companion to people.

Xiaomi equipped CyberDog 2 with powerful compute modules for advanced control, sensing, and AI, allowing the robot to perform tasks such as autonomous navigation, object tracking, SLAM, obstacle avoidance, and face and voice recognition. Xiaomi says its open platform for quadruped robots is going to be created and improved along with developers around the world.
